The Prana Yoga Center Teacher Training program is a RYS 200 Registered Yoga School and fulfills the requirements set by Yoga Alliance; upon completion, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).
The Prana Yoga Center School of Yoga is rooted in the Ashtanga-Vinyasa tradition and will deepen and refine your practice while enriching your life. Join us on this transformational journey of revealing the extraordinary true self within.
Master the three basic building blocks of Ashtanga vinyasa:
1) Ujjayi (ocean) breath
2) The bandhas (energy locks)
3) Drishti gaze pointsAcquire comprehensive instruction in yoga asana, theory and practice, hands-on adjustments and accessibility.
Gain indepth knowledge of the roots of hatha yoga and basic yoga philosophy through the introduction to classical texts, and commentaries and contemporary application (living yoga in a modern world).
Establish a meditation practice and aptitude in foundational pranayama and kriyas.
Cultivate a strong working grasp of functional anatomy as applied to the practice and in life.
Learn building blocks and skills to be able to teach yoga with confidence in a variety of settings, and also have a full understanding and appreciation of what it means to take the yoga off the mat and "live" the yoga path.

Lead teacher Jennifer Whipple holds a BA in Communications from MSU and is a Yoga Alliance ERYT-500, YACEP with 20+ years of teaching experience and 30+ years of practice experience. Our program is 13 weeks, meeting every Sunday 1-6 pm and every Wednesday, 7-9 pm. Unlimited studio classes are included throughout the duration of the training, and we encourage you to practice 5 days a week, in-person and/or online. We will cultivate a solid foundation of Yoga Philosophy, Asana practice, alignment and assists, Pranayama and Kriya, Meditation, Functional Anatomy and Practice teaching. Guest teachers include Jimmy Smalley, ERYT-500, YACEP, and Dr. Judith Carlisle, Professor of Yogic studies at Loyola Marymount.
